How to overclock the CPU and GPU on the Asus G51 series Gaming laptops. This may work with other Asus Gaming laptops (G50, G7x, etc) I highly recommend watching in HD; you can see the small print better. I did not provide footage of installing Driver Sweeper and nTools because it was to simple Download Links: Dox Drivers: forums.laptopvideo2go.com (chose x64 for 64-bit and x86 for 32-bit) Driver Sweeper: www.guru3d.com nTools: www.nvidia.com Not included in Video: Install PhysX: v8: www.nvidia.co.uk install v8 to install v9) v9: www.nvidia.co.uk I learned how to do this from this forum: forum.notebookreview.com I did not follow the instructions there about overclocking the CPU; I was happy with my current clocks. However, I did use Asus’ primitive overclocking utility, called Power4Gear Hybrid, which overclocks the CPU up to .15GHz (150MHz) faster. Note that the amount it overclocks depends on the CPU, it just is .15GHz on my q9000. Temperatures: Use moderation when overclocking, and monitor your temperatures. Asus’ Gaming laptops get very hot, so it’s not hard to reach dangerous levels. The Dox drivers allow clock modification, so you can overclock, but when the computer is idling, it underclocks the GPU to 200MHz, and drastically reduces idling temps.
